And since then...
OK, since Carla and Jael left, we've been quite busy. Glenn and I basically had a day of errands on Wednesday. Then Thursday morning I volunteered at a church while Glenn had some quality father-son time. We ate a quick lunch and then left to drive to Birmingham, Alabama, to take in one of the BarlowGirl tour dates. Our only real chance to see them play all fall. Jonah played outside in a playground there, plus he went around inside, exploring the place and meeting people. He was a hit. He's really into shaking hands these days. We stayed for downhere's set. Jonah was totally mesmerized by the lights. I wish I had a picture of the expression on his face during the first song or two. It was hilarious. He also enjoyed looking around at all the concert attenders clapping and screaming, etc. After downhere played their short opening set, Jonah and I headed to our hotel.
I won't go into details about the sleep issues that ensued, nor the biggest tantrum of Jonah's life that occurred the next morning. Let's just say we are working toward a sleep schedule this week. He really hasn't been able to settle in since we got here because of the travelling we did across various time zones. But we're here now, and we're STAYING. No one is going to be able to convince me to pull any more slightly late nights, or long car rides, or travel across anymore time zones. We're done!
By the way, Jonah has been wanting to wear underwear all week. So, whenever we've been "home" he has been wearing underwear. If we take him to the toilet at least once an hour he does well. He HAS had plenty of accidents and I'm not convinced he's ready - it's GREAT that he can pee on command, but it still doesn't appear that he can hold his bladder any longer than an hour, sometimes less. Oh well, we don't seem to be doing any damage by letting him try!
