Homeruns and more
Jonah was hitting "homeruns" on Monday - hitting his baseball right off the deck, dropping his bat, running around it (to "run the bases") and then going to get the ball. The mystery arm in this picture is our friend Wes Morris. He has been overseas for almost 2 years and is in town just for a short while until he heads back to live in British Columbia.

This picture is for Aunt Tracy and Miles. "Jonah and Miles decided" not to cut their hair until after they've seen eachother again. You can see how Miles' hair is doing here.

An unplanned dress-alike moment

Jonah is definitely getting back into a good sleep routine. And to think he had almost convinced me that maybe he just didn't need as much sleep anymore! Ha ha. The new routine is approximately... Falling asleep between 8pm & 9pm. Waking up between 7am & 8am. Napping between 1 & 3... This morning was a 6:30am morning though - I'll blame it on the drop in temperature overnight. The house was COLD this morning. I woke up early because of it, and Jonah's hands and feet were definitely cold when I went in to get him. I'll be sure to set the thermostat to cut in tonight if necessary. It has been quite hot here, but today, FALL is definitely in the air! (Although the forecast is sure looking like summer for the next few days.)
One more piece of news - the last of Jonah's baby teeth are emerging. The bottom right "2-year" molar is making its way through and I'm sure the other will appear in no time.
Frustration is the word of the day for me! Let me begin by saying that our tire rotation is nearly 3000 km overdue. In Cambridge a while back, Glenn took our car to the good ol' Canadian Tire for an oil change and tire rotation. You know, at Canadian Tire, the rotation is FREE if they first do the FREE break check. We took advantage of that last time and figured we might get away with it again. Glenn took it in and asked again for the break check. Of course, the lady soon piped up with "oh, you had the breaks checked not that long ago"... at which point, Glenn felt guilty and so didn't request the tire rotation. Are the free break checks unlimited? Can you get them for any reason? If only for a free tire rotation? Anyway, when the car was finished, Glenn asked if they happened to rotate the tires. Of course they didn't -- "You didn't ask us to, sir!"
ANYWAY, we figured we'd just get the tires rotated once we got down here in Tennessee. It has been so busy and I've been hoping Glenn would do it. But his "home time" is SO busy that finally today I took it to Wal-Mart. I could do my grocery shopping (it's a "Super Wal-Mart") while I waited after all. That's a pretty good deal.
I requested a tire rotation and balance. Gave them my keys, etc. Later I picked up the car. At that point Jonah was quite tired (it was an early morning, remember) and cried much of the drive home because he wanted to "beep" (sleep). When I got home I looked at the receipt and realized that I only paid for the tires to be balanced. I promptly gave them a call to confirm -- Yes, they had only BALANCED the tires. DANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, I have to make time to do the 20 minute drive back there for the tire rotation... And I don't have any groceries to get this time. Can I say that we've now attempted to get the tires rotated TWICE?!?! Third time's a charm? I sure hope so.

Nice lid Jonah!
Can you please ask Jonah to stop growing until we get down there? He's going to be taller than me by then! ;-)P
What is the difference between having the tires balanced or rotated? I should probably have a grasp on this...

Oh yuck! That is no fun! I hope it gets worked out quickly. Ya know...you could bring it up here and we could hang out with the kiddos at Walmart together. :)
I am glad Jonah is sleeping better for you. I understand the sleepy cranky kid!
