Bram = Four months old! (actually almost five)
Bram is HUGE! He has his official 4-month measurements -- 26" long, 15 lb 12 oz in weight and his head circumference is 44.5 cm. Although his weight is now down in the 25th percentile, his length is in the 75 percentile and his head in the 90th! His size at four months is overall comparable to Jonah when Jonah was about 7 months old! I hadn't realized his head size. I remember Jonah had a big head, but Bram's is even bigger at this point.
Bram's first tooth appeared when he was 3.5 months old. It's visible in the picture of Jonah and Bram below. I thought another one came in the other day but now I can't see it anymore. Does this happen or was I mistaken?
Milestones achieved and significant moments from the last two months...
-sucking on thumb/hand/fingers
-holding feet
-cousin Zoe born in the same year as Bram
-rolled over a couple of times but still isn't doing it consistently
-flew on an airplane (to Tennessee) outside of the womb (when I was pregnant I flew to Florida & California)
-first bath in a jacuzzi tub and really liked it
-blowing "raspberries"/spitting
-didn't cry for a vaccination
-first fever & cold
Bram is overall a super happy little guy, especially in the last few weeks. I couldn't get over how happy he was during his cold and teething but then the fever hit and he really wasn't himself. The fever has passed but the teething and cold (cough/runny nose) continue and now he's refusing his soother. Feeding is still going fine so perhaps the soother is harder to suck on?! I'm not sure what's going on here, but it is a little frustrating. [Also, Glenn just had tonsillitis so I wonder if Bram could have a sore throat as well.] On the bright side, maybe we can just get rid of the soother?
Bram is a very loud little boy like his brother, especially when he has a cold and is teething. He has taken to vocally experimenting with the mucus at the back of his throat. Yes, kinda gross. He yells a lot, especially in the night and early hours of the morning when it's still so dark and quiet in the house. I am often worried that Bram is going to wake Jonah too early and that Jonah will be grumpy all day.
Bram's sleep schedule is still a little unpredictable. He'll go to bed around 7. I don't wake him at 10:30 to feed him any more. He's usually up once in the night (sometimes more, sometimes not at all) and then wakes up any time from 6am to 7:30. I prefer the 7:30 wake-up of course. The cold and teething and fever really messed with the sleep. Last night was better but it was a 6am morning.
Jonah and Bram definitely enjoy each other. It's really fun for us to watch Jonah getting such a kick out of Bram. I hope it continues! Enjoy this video. It's hard to tell but believe me - I was videotaping AND supervising well!
Here is the most recent family picture we have. This one was taken when Bram was pretty much 4 months old. It sure is hard to get a good picture when there are two kids in the shot!
