Glenn is gone - Yippee!! (?)
Glenn is away for a full 15 days on this current trip. Of course, I always miss him terribly. To help me cope, I've decided to focus on the positive. Here's what I LIKE about Glenn being away...
-less laundry
-more room in bed to spread out
-I can feed Bram in my bed at night time (when Glenn is home I try not to disturb his sleep by feeding Bram in Bram's room)
-I can call it "my" bed and no one complains
-I get extra cuddles from Jonah
-I cook more simple meals and have fewer dishes to clean up (only a couple really)
-I spend less time waiting for the bathroom to be available
-The newspaper and flyers don't have to spend any time on or under the kitchen table or on the counter - they go straight to the recycling bin
-I get more exercise because I have to pick Jonah up from school
-I get to drive myself through Cambridge the ways I think are faster
-More silence
-Ever so slightly less clutter
-I spend less time wondering exactly when Glenn went out to the compost bin and how much longer it's going to be until he makes it back inside
-there is less confusion about who is doing what parenting or household task - I'm doing them all!
-The only person complaining about the amount of dirt on the kitchen floor is me!
Trust me, the list of negatives is longer. And the list of positives of having him home is longer too. But like I said, I thought perhaps focusing on the positive aspects of his time away would make me feel better. Now, as I head off to get ready to go to bed alone, I'm trying to decide if it worked! It's such a nice, big, comfy bed...
