Christmas Tree Fiasco?
Last night our Christmas tree was erected. This morning Jonah was quite excited about the tree. He liked the flashing lights and all the interesting ornaments. We explained that he needed to be very gentle with the tree, of course, and he did well to keep his distance... this morning.
This afternoon I was in the kitchen working on some toppings for tonight's pizza. Jonah was playing very quietly in the living room. Occasionally I heard some noises, but nothing sounded unusual. Suddenly I heard a crashing sound and Jonah started to cry. Oh no! I went in there to find the tree in shambles and Jonah underneath it. The tree landed partially on an end table, so Jonah wasn't trapped or hurt, just scared. I realize that he had slowly been dismantling the tree, piece by piece. He had even managed to pick apart some of the ornaments, beads, and lights!
Click here to listen to downhere's podcast and figure out why I TOTALLY MADE UP this story!! Yes, it's all a lie... There was NO Christmas tree fiasco. I was just trying to make someone a little nervous!
On a truthful note, Jonah does like the tree and is doing very well with it! We stuck to child-friendly ornaments within reach of course!

You got me too Sherri, even though moments before I read this entry we had just discussed how well Jonah had been doing with the Christmas tree. Doh!
