A Blistering 3rd Birthday

We celebrated Jonah's and Glenn's birthdays yesterday. Since I haven't had much practice with cake decorating with icing, I instead used candy. I was thrilled to find little banana candy after purchasing a Curious George cake topper. Jonah helped me decorate the cake, which for him, mostly involved eating the candy.

When I handed this wrapped gift to Jonah and told him it
was from Jeremy and Erin, he immediately predicted
the gift correctly - drum sticks!

We played a little game outside to get the boys out of
the house while the drums were being set up.
Here is Jonah, VERY excited to get back inside!

This is a serious junior drum kit and yes, it IS as loud
as a real one. Jonah and Miles initially both went nuts on
the kit. Then we attempted to put some order to it with
turn-taking. Emotions were high but we managed to
successfully support the boys through it! Of course,
Jonah LOVES his new kit and even managed to get a
blister on his right hand from playing it so much!

After Jonah and Miles were in bed, we brought out Glenn's
requested birthday dessert. We've made the recipe,
which we saw in Runner's World magazine, a few times.
It's tasty and pretty nutritious too, so I'll post it sometime soon.
