Jonah's car
I took one of Miles' baby toys out of our crawl space (storage) the other day. It's a steering wheel type toy with a foot pedal...

Jonah has totally taken the idea and run with it. He has "built" himself a car. He sits on an upside-down blue popcorn bowl (his chair), and has all kinds of boxes piled around himself. One box is a door that he ALWAYS uses (opens/closes) to get in/out. The others are apparently "windows so I can see". Yeah, cardboard makes GOOD windows!

He has a key (an infant toy) that plays an important part in starting the car of course. He says a few key phrases while he's in there and it's just too funny. One is something like "OK everybody, we're all set". I'm not sure if that's the right wording, but I had no idea that Glenn says that, or perhaps it's me? Oh, and he borrowed a scarf of Glenn's to use as a seatbelt. It's so cute to see him get in, strap the seatbelt on, start up the car, take hold of the steering wheel, and push the foot pedal.
He brought me one box lid earlier today, saying he needed tape so he could make a roof for his car. I couldn't think of a way to make it work for him though... the car doesn't really have a frame after all.
Other things of interest that are ALWAYS in the car:
-cell phone ("Hi Aunt Kista! Hi Uncle Bob!")
-a credit card and a running room gift card (can't go anywhere without money!)
-a notepad and pencil (can't go anywhere without your list!!!)
-an alligator (I have no idea why! But you can kinda see its green body in the "door" of the car in picture #2.)
Other things of interest that are sometimes in the car:
-a couple of dinky cars
-his guitar (he likes to unload his gear)
-his computer keyboard (his laptop, if you will)
His blow-up whale also got a ride once today. But the blow up whale is a WHOLE other story. I took it out of storage today and he fell in love with it again. Jonah and Miles have both always really enjoyed the whale. It's very odd. It's not cuddly, yet apparently great for cuddling. And fun to dance with too. I ran upstairs for a minute today and when I came back down, Jonah was in the bathroom with the door closed. He and the whale were lying on the floor beside eachother, and he was asking me for a blanket to cover them up. OK, that's just weird, but whatever. I got him a blanket and he cuddled with the large plastic whale for a while. And yes, eventually they did go for a drive together, and ended the day in the bath together. Sorry, I didn't take any pictures of that! But I'll try to get a picture of Jonah IN his car for you tomorrow!

I am always amazed by his imagination and his vocabulary! What a funny boy. We have a blow up good year blimp that the kids love like Jonahs whale. I don't get it either.

Ok so I gave him the whale and I definately want ya to try and get a few pics of him with it for me if ya can. Sherri your boy sure knows how to have fun and make use of what is around to amuse him.
It is really a pleasure to see and hear this as I know many kids whom have everything and thus really do not need to have an imagination to have fun what a shme they really do miss out.
You just got to love kids and their adventures.
