speechless? ( I guess not)
Ever not blog for so long that you just don't know where to start? That's me tonight! My computer has been down for a few days, so that complicated things a little too. And now that it's up and running again (thanks Bob!) Glenn is out of town and he's the one with all the digital pics on his laptop from our cruise. Oh well! You're not THAT interested anyway, right?
Glenn is currently what I'm calling "insane-o-trip." He left Monday for Texas. Then the band flew to Saskatchewan. They played LATE last night there, only leaving about 1 hour for a night's sleep before heading to the airport to fly to Toronto. They had about 6 or 7 hours of waiting in Toronto, before heading to London, England, so Jonah and I went and visited them this afternoon. Jonah was quite excited to see everybody, giving out lots of hugs (out of character) and was sad to leave too. Of course, he was MOST thrilled to see Daddy. The $15 bucks I paid for parking, plus gas money, was well worth it.
They'll arrive in London very early in the morning (England time), and have a couple of hours of waiting there, until they fly to Ireland, and do a sound check pretty much right away. So unless they sleep well on the plane tonight, they will more more sleep-deprived than I'd like. Poor Jess! After Ireland and England, they're off to Denmark... and then ALASKA! What is that - A 100-hour time change or something?! OK, maybe 8 or 10? Nuts! At least Jess gets to go home from Denmark. While in Ireland, I'm counting on our friend to keep us in the loop about what's going on with downhere!
A couple of weeks ago, we bought a timer and night light for Jonah's "bedroom". Then we worked on teaching Jonah to be quiet in the morning until the light comes on at 7am. When the light comes on, he is supposed to call out to us. (The first night REALLY back-fired - he stayed up late waiting for the light to come on... let's just say I had some unkind words for Glenn and his "brilliant ideas" at about 9pm that night!)
Glenn put Jonah's crib away (again) this week and put up his big boy bed. Attempt #2! It seems to be going well. He has been staying in his bed at nap-time and through the night. When he wakes up in the morning, for the most part, he waits until the light is on... at which point he is more likely to attempt escaping his room rather than calling me. Oh well! It's a work in progress, and it feels pretty good. I guess Glenn's idea might eventually get a "brilliant" rating afterall.
Jonah really hasn't been himself since we got back from the cruise though. He hasn't been eating well and has been whining and crying more than usual. At supper Grandma and I were talking about whether Jonah has a sore belly or a broken heart (missing Glenn) and Jonah pathetically concluded, "I have a broken heart."
He has been super-interested in the internal workings of the human body lately, so I'm pretty sure he's quite confused on the meaning of "a broken heart"... Grandma suggested eating the food I give him, like carrots, will help his broken heart, and he seemed satisfied. Later I suggested God could fix it and he liked that idea too. He said he could tell God about it, and God would say "It's OK, I will fix your heart." How sweet!
Nanny bought Jonah a kids body encyclopedia for Christmas and he's really enjoying it. He is learning about brains, blood, heart, blood vessels, lungs, kidneys, bladder, bones, etc. He is very interested in knowing what various foods have in them (like vitamins) and how they help his various body parts and functioning. That seems to help a little in encouraging him to eat.
Jonah has been asking some funny questions and saying funny things related to the human body. Like, "I always want a uterus" and "Do Grinches have eardrums too?" He is asking SO many questions these days. I guess it's THAT stage... Now I just pray he won't repeat ALL the honest answers I give him!!!

Jonah how funny he is. You just got to love kids and there questions and the most embarassing is when they repeat something you said that you thought they never heard and you just about die out of embarassment.
Jonah will get use to the big boys bed soon. My sister found promising a treat at the end of 7 check marks on the calander each week. Dollarama here comes Sherri and Jonah for there treats.
I wish the guys well on there tour. Travel mercies to them all.
Talk to you soon

awww. . there's womb envy too?? LOL!!! CUTE. . welcome back, Sherri!! Kids DO say funny things. Today, we had the grandkids over while their mom and dad got their taxes done. We put on Disney's "Fantasia". During the part where the abstract art lines, shapes, etc. were synchronized with the music James looked at this display and said "Is that cubism?" At which point Erica echoed him (shaking her head affirmatively): "Yeah, cubism". This made us laugh even harder. I asked Jimmy: "What's cubism?" His reply: "Its when things are all broken up and made into a picture with the pieces." Kids are so awesome. Its cool that Jonah's interested in physiology and anatomy!! Kathy

Is it bad if you are communicating with your wife through blog comments?
I figured out that I was awake for 30 hours with only three 15 minute naps. And my first day here in the UK I haven't really eaten anything. I got a little sick on the flight over. Something I ate. Blech!! So now it's the morning after and I've finally had some good sleep but I NEED some sustanance. I'm feeling weak and generally kind of weird. Hopefully I can find something I can eat.

I love hearing about Jonah! I hope these blogs can be saved so that he can read them when he's 17! :) "I want a uterus" haha! I'm sure he's going to LOVE that one! I have a few embarrasing kid stories, but maybe I can tell them to ya in person one day!
So have the guys ever gone to Alaska before?!?!?! That should be one for the record books!
I'm pray for all of them! March will be here soon :)
God bless!
