Peaches

Bram has been enjoying rice and oat cereal for a couple of weeks. Here are his impressions of peaches...

Happy Half Birthday Bram!

Wow - Bram is already six months old!!! He going to see the doctor on Monday so I don't have those updates yet, but let me think about what has happened in the last weeks...

-Bram's second tooth really did come in about a week after I thought I first saw it
-He has started grabbing/scratching his belly when lying down
-He has started on rice cereal and oat cereal - I give them to him mixed and he loves it
-He has had several serious blow outs, thanks to the cereals no doubt
-When the poopy diaper is opened, Bram can reach the poop
-Bram had his first ear infection - last dose of antibiotics is tomorrow. This was really disturbing his sleep for a while. The doctor said his ear drum was as red as a tomato and should be about the color of his skin. It's amazing he wasn't more miserable than he was! That was his right ear. The doctor couldn't see the left ear drum because of ear wax. The chunk of ear wax came out two days later.
-The soother/paci is back
-He has started banging toys on things
-He's still not rolling over much
-He is starting to sit up on his own
-I cut Bram's bangs - the two perfectly parted locks were driving me crazy, especially after seeing the pictures below

that was going on here was that Bram was getting
hungry and was trying to eat Jonah. As usual,
Jonah thought it was hilarious.

Now that Bram is well again, he is headed back in the direction of being super happy. We're sure glad about that!

I'll report on his size/growth next week!

First offense

If you look closely enough at this picture of Bram laying on the floor, you can see the pen mark on his forehead. Suspiciously, Jonah "doesn't remember" what happened. Something about maybe walking past Bram while holding the pen "really low."

the Sentimental compost

Check us out! Back in the EARLY days of our relationship. We were so young. So cute. Glenn used to buy me flowers a lot! Eventually I had to ask him to stop because hey, flowers can get expensive! I always dried the flowers. So, on our wedding day, during the ceremony, standing on either side of us, were two large arrangements of dried flowers - all given to me by Glenn during the course of our dating and engagement.


Once the wedding was done, I cut the arrangements up and simply kept only the flowers/buds in two clear glass old-style milk bottles. After 10 years of marriage, it was time to say good-bye to the flowers... So, what better place to put them than in our compost bin? They'll live on in our garden!!!

downhere guitar string bracelets & necklaces - OPEN HOUSE!!

On February 17 & 18, Glenn and I are hosting an open house from 7:30pm to 9:30pm each night to sell our guitar string jewelry. We make each piece from guitar strings used in performance by the band. The clasps are sterling silver. Each piece comes with a tag with some written detail as to where the string was played, when, and/or by whom. We have more than 80 items to choose from in various styles and sizes.

In celebration of downhere's recent Juno Award nomination we are also going to have their nominated album, "Ending is Beginning" available for purchase and a limited number of two other albums as well.

Impromptu song by Jonah for Bram

Definitely my favorite line from this song that Jonah made up on the spot is, "It's a good day for Brambis, a good day for Brambos, a good day for Brambis of Brams."

And although the last line is a little morbid ("I want Bram to stay alive"), I also feel that it truly displays Jonah's love for our sweet little Bram. Jonah doesn't want to experience life without him! How SWEEEET is that!?!? I wonder how long until he feels differently? Like maybe when Jonah is 15 and Bram is only 11? Bram could SURE be an annoying little brother by then!

We're enjoying the sibling bliss while it lasts!!!
